To a boy it is a weapon used for conquest

To me it is the root of pain and torment

Love, a simple word that transforms a life
It can elevate you to heights unknown
It can destroy you and trap you in hell
We live for it and prey for death due to it

Love, a simple word that cuts to the core
It rips out your heart leaving an empty hole
It reaches into the very fiber of your being
Love leaves your soul screaming in the abyss

Love, a simple word so easily spoken
But once spoken it can never be taken back
It is a word that I wish I had never known
A simple word that has brought me to ruin
